Spring flowers to bloom this week

By Park Si-soo

Spring is kilometers away ― literarily.

Floral harbingers of spring will spring up this week in southern parts of the Korean Peninsula, a private weather forecaster said Tuesday. The wave of flowers will reach up to Seoul around April 3, according to Kweather.

The blooming will happen 4-7 days earlier than previous years, a reflection of warmer weather, according to the forecaster.

By regions, Jeju Island will see spring flowers blossoming around Thursday, Busan on March 24, Daegu on 25, Gwangju on 28, Daejeon on 31, Gangneung on April 1, Seoul on April 3, and Chuncheon on April 7.
