Popular Japanese rock band GLAY will hold its first concerts in Korea at KBS Arena Hall in Hwagok-dong, Seoul, on June 29-30.

This is to celebrate the band's 25th anniversary of debut. The four-member band arrived on Thursday and has been preparing for the concerts since.

"I am so delighted to hold live concerts in Korea after 25 years," guitarist Hisasi told reporters in Japanese at Incheon International Airport, Thursday. "I hope everybody will enjoy our music."

Leader Takuro promised to present "the best gig" for Korean fans.

GLAY debuted in 1994 with the single album "RAIN" and rose to stardom with dozens of smash-hit numbers including "However," "Soul Love," and "Winter, Again." Its "GLAY EXPO '99 Survival'" concert in 1999 garnered a whopping 200,000 people.

Along with X JAPAN and L'Arc-en-Ciel, GLAY is one of the most popular Japanese rock bands, boasting a solid fan base at home and abroad. Its members are known to have close ties with several K-pop acts including JYJ's Kim Jae-joong.
