Hong Kong ― The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, a five-star hotel in Hong Kong, provides cozy accommodation right off the busy streets in the heart of Central.

The prestigious hotel, placed in the key shopping district, offers over 100 stylish, spacious rooms and suites, including two grand, exclusive suites ― an apartment and entertainment.

To provide a more pleasant experience, the hotel rooms underwent refurbishment two and a half years ago, making the rooms cozier, including adding a drawer-style fridge with a larger mini-bar selection and warm colors throughout the rooms for coziness.

Soft fabric carpets and couches, with warm yellow lighting add to the comfortable yet luxurious ambience. Bathrooms take a great portion of the rooms as it gives space for people to indulge in the hotel's signature seven-foot round bathtubs accompanied with a built-in TV in the mirror.

The entertainment suite is the only room that has less emphasis on making the room feel like a home. Instead, the suite has a full fun package, from a roll-over screen and projector, five "cabinets of delight" for snacks and drink stations to gaming gear for a PlayStation console. As the name implies, the place is fully equipped for an extensive night of entertainment.

Along with providing warm hospitality, the hotel has been working its way towards sustainable management as a group initiative. Plastic water bottles have been substituted with glass bottles filled with filtered water.

The drinking water used throughout the hotel, including restaurants, comes from an eco-friendly in-house filter that was installed last year.

Last December, the hotel renovated the entire seventh floor to bring in three new restaurants ― SOMM, Sushi Shikon, and Kappo Rin (to be opened) ― along with the hotel's iconic French fine-dining Amber in May.

The newly launched, French neo-bistro SOMM offers a full sommelier-led experience in a wine barrel-shaped cozy space with a selection of over 1,000 champagnes, wines, and sake.

Using predominantly Japanese ingredients, Amber's former Sous-Chef Mario Paecke creates a fusion of French and Asian cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Some signature dishes include Japanese pork doused in BBQ sauce, Tasmanian salmon with rice cream and, for breakfast, omelet katsu sandwich that can be paired with morning champagne.

On top of the four gourmet restaurants on the seventh floor, the hotel's F&B outlets include MO Bar and PDT (Please Don't Tell), an NYC-based speakeasy bar within MO Bar, and The Oriental Spa.

The private spa offers exclusive massage and aromatherapy treatment along with the sauna for quality relaxation time. It has been well-recognized abroad and at the Harper's Bazaar Malaysia Spa Awards in 2018.
