The deadly coronavirus epidemic that originated in Wuhan, China, has been dominating headlines around the world. And media coverage in neighboring South Korea has been inflammatory, fueling public fear over the virus.

The Korea Times reporters visited Myeongdong which was far less densely populated with Chinese tourists than right before the coronavirus outbreak and asked people in the streets how they feel about the epidemic.

Business owners and employees working in Myeongdong were reluctant to speak to the press about the virus, fearing it could further affect their sales.
