The COVID-19 pandemic is expected to bring huge changes to the way Korea approaches foreign policy and security, according to a noted specialist on international relations.
During a recent interview with The Korea Times, Moon Chung-in, special adviser to President Moon Jae-in for foreign affairs and national security, explained what major changes have been made in foreign affairs following the coronavirus pandemic and where South Korean stands after successfully getting through the health crisis.
Moon was also an adviser to the former Kim Dae-jung and Roh Moo-hyun administrations. During his advisory role to presidents Roh and Kim Dae-jung, he contributed in drafting and implementing the Sunshine Policy of engagement toward North Korea. He also attended the first, second and third inter-Korean summits in Pyongyang as a special delegate.
