Actress Park Min-young will be starring in JTBC's new romantic comedy series, directed by Cha Yeong-hoon who helmed the hit KBS series “When the Camellia Blooms” in 2019.
The actress' agency Namoo Actors revealed Monday that Park has been confirmed for the lead role of Jin Ha-kyung in the series “People at Meteorological Service” (direct translation).
Created by the star writer Kang Eun-kyung, who is the writer behind the popular series “Dr. Romantic,” the series revolves around the work-life and romance between employees of the national weather service, full of unpredictable events.
Park will play a mid-level government official, who oversees one of the forecast divisions, at the service. She is a perfectionist who passed the civil service exam on the first try. However, she makes herself an outcast as she doesn't like to socialize with her co-workers.
Actors Song Kang, Yoon Park, and Yura have also taken lead roles in the series. Song and Yoon will play Park's co-workers as the service's officials, and Yura will play a reporter, specializing in weather forecasts. The series is set to begin shooting imminently.
Park debuted with a supporting role in the smash-hit sitcom “High Kick!” in 2006. She has starred in various romantic comedy TV series including “Sungkyunkwan Scandal” and “What's Wrong with Secretary Kim?” She also recently starred in Netflix's variety show “Busted!”
