Former Deloitte exec selected as new CEO of Ediya Coffee

Ediya Coffee appointed former Deloitte Consulting Vice President Lee Seok-jang as the new CEO, the company said Tuesday.

Lee is an expert on corporate management strategy and has consulted many times for major companies in and outside of the country. He graduated from Yonsei University and the College of Business at Ohio University in the United States.

Under the co-representative system of Moon Chang-ki and Lee, Ediya Coffee plans to reorganize its structure and diversify its business strategies.

“Ediya Coffee owns the largest number of franchises in the country. At the same time, it is the pride of the Korean coffee industry. I will work hard as the new CEO to make the company a cherished coffee franchise brand across the world,” Lee said.

Lee also worked for Hyundai Motor for 29 years from 1988 and served as an executive of the planning and coordination team. He also built his career at Hyundai Engineering & Construction as the head of the company's strategic planning team and as the CEO of Hyundai Engineering & Steel Industries.

“I will do my best to realize the company's future goals by strengthening its competitiveness in the market by discovering new growth engines, while sticking to the company's philosophy of prioritizing the customer and the quality of its coffee products,” Lee added.
