Maum AI, which recently changed its company name from Minds Lab, aims to expand its artificial intelligence (AI) business in Korea utilizing its large language model similar to that of ChatGPT, Yoo Tae-joon, CEO of Maum AI said during a conference in Seoul, Wednesday.

The event was to introduce its vision and service platform to investors, researchers, the press and the public. "This move aims for the company to leap forward as an AI platform company," Yoo said.

The company said it provides three AI services: an AI engine-based learning service, inference services through AI models and what the company calls "AI humans," a chatbot service that can communicate smoothly with customers.

By providing AI services that have learned about specialized fields, customers in various sectors can create new AI services by combining the Maum AI platform with their businesses, the CEO said.

"ChatGPT service has become a big topic around the world and is shaking the structure of the entire industry," Yoo said. "This service has strong points, but there are also parts that need to be checked to see if the information they give is accurate. Our AI services strengthen learning in specific industries, ensuring more expertise."

"For AI humans we are offering an AI human service that is applied with ChatGPT-like large language models."

With its AI engine, customers can interact with various kinds of chatbots such as AI customer counselors, AI security guards and AI stenographers.

During the conference, the company also introduced its AI service creation platform called maum.ai 2.0. By using this platform, customers can freely combine different AI engines.

"Last year, we were chosen by the government as one of the three AI language model providers. This was possible because we have tried to keep pace with the fast-changing large language model study and developed our own engines," the CEO said.

Given the company's AI engine is specialized in learning information related to Korea, Yoo added its AI service will become a better choice for local customers.
