The KT Wiz announced Tuesday they will bring back left-hander Wes Benjamin for his third season in the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO).

The Wiz said Benjamin has agreed to a new one-year deal worth $1.4 million, up from $1 million he made in 2023 while going 15-6 with a 3.54 ERA in 29 starts.

Benjamin joined the Wiz in the middle of the 2022 season to replace injured pitcher William Cuevas. Cuevas reunited with the Wiz this year and the two will once again lead the Wiz's rotation in 2024.

"Benjamin has already proven himself in the KBO," Wiz general manager Na Do-hyun said. "We expect him to be a stabilizing force in our rotation once again next season."

The Wiz have completed their foreign player signings for 2024, having earlier re-signed Cuevas and brought back outfielder Mel Rojas Jr., who won the most valuable player award in 2020 before leaving for Japan.

KBO teams can each sign up to three foreign players, with a maximum two pitchers.

The trio will report to the Wiz's training camp starting in February in the southeastern city of Busan. (Yonhap)
