Dyson has joined the noise-canceling headphone market, launching its Dyson Zone that provides high immersion with low distortion and comfortable fit, its Korean unit said, Tuesday.
Dyson Korea said the new product features a lithium-ion battery, which can be charged to 100 percent in three hours via the onboard USB Type-C port. It can also deliver sound with ultra-low distortion for up to 50 hours.
"The headphones offer advanced active noise reduction and faithful audio reproduction across the entire audio spectrum. In total, the Dyson Zone headphones are equipped with 11 microphones, eight of which are used to reduce noise pollution by up to 40 decibels and monitor surrounding sounds 384,000 times per second," the company said.
To deliver true sound over a full spectrum, the new product automatically reproduces frequencies ranging from 6 hertz to 21 kilohertz, the company added.
Dyson said this product was designed to offer maximum comfort for users.
"Inspired by the shape and design of a horse's saddle, the Dyson Zone noise-canceling headphones are designed to distribute weight evenly across both sides of the head, rather than the top. The headphones have also been designed taking into account a diverse range of head types across the world to adapt to all owners," Dyson said.
Users can also control the product via the MyDyson mobile app. They can adjust the airflow speed, noise reduction mode and audio equalization.
Renowned English DJ and music producer Fenner also shared his experience of using Dyson's new product. He mixes K-pop and producing records in collaboration with some of Korea's leading K-pop artists.
"As a DJ my goal is to mix different tracks together. It is really important to have a good set of headphones that allows me to hear all the frequencies clearly so I can equalize tracks together, on the fly, into a great-sounding mix. These headphones are great for that. As a music producer, the same is true. I need a set of headphones that deliver a clean flat response of frequencies that give an honest representation of how the music actually sounds. The Dyson Zone noise-canceling headphones excel in faithfully reproducing the entire sound spectrum and are exceptionally comfortable," Fenner said.
The new product starts from 869,000 won ($665).
