Two men have died after a man who fell from an apartment building landed on top of another man in Busan, police said on Monday.
According to the Busan Sasang Police Station, one man in his 80s was slammed into by a man in his 50s, who fell to his death from an apartment building in Sasang District, western Busan, at around 7 a.m., Saturday.
The man in his 50s was found dead at the scene. The older man was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment but he died on Sunday.
Police suspect the first death was a suicide, though no suicide note was found.
“I was told that police would press no charges after the death of the perpetrator,” a family member of the older man was quoted as saying in a report by Yonhap. “It is unfair that no one will take the responsibility for his death.”
This is not the first time that a person has been injured or killed in such an incident. In another recent case, a woman in her 20s was injured by another woman who apparently jumped to her death from a residential building in northern Busan in June 2018.
