Google Cloud aims to empower its enterprise clients in Korea to drive business innovation through its generative AI-powered cloud computing services, head of its Korean unit said Wednesday.

"As a business leader in the generative AI era, Google Cloud's goal is to support enterprise customers in realizing the value of generative AI technology and navigating wisely through this period when expectations for the technology are at their peak," Chi Ki-sung, country director of Google Cloud Korea, said during a press conference in Seoul.

During a press conference held a day ahead of Google Cloud Summit Seoul, Chi said Google Cloud possesses everything from its AI chip Tensor Processing Unit to software, enabling customers to achieve digital transformation and seek increased operational efficiency, improved productivity and enhanced employee satisfaction.

"Google Cloud is already collaborating with several leading companies and startups in Korea, achieving remarkable results with generative AI. Our focus is on improving productivity for knowledge workers and coders, providing more personalized conversational customer experiences, and automating various back-office processes," he said.

At the Google Cloud Summit Seoul event, Google Cloud introduced its AI Agent, a service connected to cloud computing and shared its vision to support customer innovation in various industries with generative AI.

For instance, its AI Agent service helps users achieve their goals, such as assisting shoppers in finding suitable dresses for weddings or supporting nurses to quickly hand over patient information during shift changes, the company said.

Kakao Healthcare, a local digital health care company collaborating with Google Cloud, said that through their cooperation, they have been expanding the scope of utilizing data containing sensitive patient health information.

"Google's biggest advantage is that they don't insist on their own models but aim to broaden the ecosystem as much as possible and strive for an open ecosystem," Hwang Hee, CEO of Kakao Healthcare, said. "So when we want to test by changing AI models, we have a flexible model system that allows us to freely try various models and choose the one that gives us the best results and is most effective."

In April, the CEO announced the results of these collaborations at Google Cloud Next event held in Las Vegas, explaining to AI industry professionals about AI-based mobile blood glucose management services and AI technologies applied to healthcare data platform businesses.
