Dongwon F&B has released this year's Chuseok giftset lineup as one of the country's biggest holidays is almost two weeks away.

The seafood arm of Dongwon Industries with 40 years of Chuseok giftset marketing history has defined this year's traditional sales boost under three keywords: health, cost-effective and eco-friendly.

The company's Chuseok giftsets this year have come in a variety numbering around 100. They come with different sizes, contents and nutritional facts including the company's steady-seller products like canned tuna, salmon, ham as well as cooking oils and various condiments.

Dongwon Tuna's 150 gram cans, for example, contain 28 grams of protein each. For its canned ham brand Richam, the company has newly introduced this year Richam Double Light with an upgraded quality reducing sodium and fat contents further from its previous version released in 2021.

To attract more consumers who are struggling with the country's scaled-up market prices for virtually all food items and increasingly looking for more affordable choices, Dongwon has expanded this year's giftset options with prices ranging from 10,000 won ($7.50) to under 50,000 won. For pricier premium options, the company has included Himalayan salts.

To make its giftsets eco-friendlier, Dongwon has used recycled materials for packaging. The Recycling Plastic lineup used recycled aseptic packs and chemical recycled polypropylene (Cr-PP), while materials for the All-Paper Package lineup are 100 percent pulp.

For more eye-catching options, the company has put together 14 tuna cans inside a giant tin can, naming it the MEGA Tuna Giftset.

“This year marks the 40th anniversary since Dongwon F&B began making Chuseok gift packs,” a company official said. “As we've always done every Chuseok, we'll keep reflecting the country's latest consumer trends and needs in our holiday specials.”

The year the company first released Chuseok giftsets, it saw more than 300,000 products sold. Since then, the traditional holiday sales have amounted to over 250 million products sold.
