Min Byoung-chul, the founder and chairman of the Sunfull Foundation, was honored with the Excellence in Global Harmony award during the third edition of the Impact Awards, hosted by the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) Party List on Thursday.

The award acknowledges Min's significant contributions to promoting cross-cultural respect and global peace through the Sunfull Foundation's K-Respect campaign, which advocates for respect toward foreign workers and multicultural communities.

Established in 2007, the Sunfull Foundation is a non-profit organization that aims to combat cyberbullying, encourage positive online communication and foster respect across diverse cultural communities.

Min's work has been pivotal in improving mutual respect between Koreans and foreign nationals, especially OFWs, bolstering ties between Korea and the Philippines. His initiatives align closely with the mission of the OFW Party List, which is dedicated to enhancing the welfare of Filipino workers abroad.

During his acceptance speech, Min highlighted Korea's growing multiculturalism, noting that the country is now home to 2.5 million foreign nationals. He emphasized the importance of fostering a welcoming environment for foreign workers, citing the recent arrival of 100 Filipino care workers as part of a pilot project.

"It is our duty to make them feel respected every day," he said.

In August, the Sunfull Foundation deepened its commitment to promoting respect and understanding by signing a memorandum of understanding with the Korea-Philippines Economic Council.

The agreement focuses on encouraging businesses to adopt positive communication practices and addresses labor needs in Korea, including the employment of Filipino care workers.
