Hyundai Motor and Toyota Motor will hold a joint racing festival in Korea, in their first joint effort to pomote motorsport culture, the two carmakers said Tuesday.

The event will be held on Oct. 27 at the Everland Speedway racing circuit in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province. The event is aimed at showcasing high-performance models and race cars from both firms.

Visitors can particularly immerse themselves during the Track Day event when they can witness Hyundai Motor's N and Toyota Gazoo Racing vehicles in action.

The highlight of the event will be a demo drive, reminiscent of a real rally, featuring race cars and professional drivers from both carmakers' World Rally teams, set to steal the spotlight.

Visitors can also experience the performance of these competition vehicles firsthand through a unique test ride. Hyundai Motor said the special collaboration is expected to propel Korean motorsport culture to a new height.

Top executives from the two carmakers, including Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Chung Euisun and Toyota Motor Chairman Akio Toyoda, will also take part in the event.

"We are excited to welcome the Toyota Gazoo Racing team, our competitor in the World Rally Championship, to Korea," said Lee Yeong-ho, executive vice president at Hyundai Motor's global operations division.

"This event will emphasize the fierce competition and friendship that co-exist in motorsport and is an opportunity to demonstrate the pure passion for cars shared by both Hyundai and Toyota, as well as our commitment to further expand motorsport in the future."

Toyota Motor also expressed hopes to elevate their ties for the bilateral motorsports culture.

"We are glad that Hyundai N and Toyota Gazoo Racing are working together to create an opportunity to enjoy car culture beyond motorsport," Toyota Motor Korea CEO Manabu Konyama said.
