Olivia Marsh, older sister of K-pop girl group NewJeans member Danielle, will be making her debut with the self-written single “42” on Oct. 16.
The singer's label MPLIFY shared an introduction video for the upcoming single on Wednesday, announcing the album's title and its release date.
The one-minute teaser shows a collection of the singer's childhood home videos, sharing her celebrating birthdays with her family and blowing out birthday candles. The video ends with her saying “Olivia” when a voice asks her: “What's your name?”
The Korean Australian singer is signed with MPLIFY, which was launched by Warner Music Korea last month. She will be the label's first artist.
“Olivia Marsh is a singer-songwriter from Australia who has exceptional talent and originality,” the label said.
“She has drawn inspiration from artists of various genres, including ABBA, John Denver, Tame Impala and Vera Blue, and has been singing and composing music since she was young.”
The singer's debut created buzz primarily among fans of NewJeans, in keeping with the popularity of her sister, Danielle.
Marsh is set to perform at SXSW Sydney in Australia on Oct. 16. The event, affiliated with South by Southwest in Austin, Texas, will be held from Oct. 14 through 20.
The singer's debut album will hit streaming sites at noon on the same day of her performance.
