The Seoul city government on Monday announced a list of 100 restaurants and bars recommended by 45 domestic food experts ahead of the opening of its annual food festival next month.

Taste of Seoul 2024 is scheduled to take place from Nov. 9-14 on Nodeul Island, a small islet on the Han River, and elsewhere in the capital under the theme of "invitation to a weeklong gourmet travel in Seoul."

The list of 100 restaurants and bars is the city's representative food guidebook that has been carefully selected by food content experts, culinary travelers and food journalists since 2020 in consideration of originality, expertise and popularity.

This year's list is broken down into Korean food (21 places), Asian food (14 places), Western food (23 places), grilled food (11 places), vegetarian food (10 places), cafe and dessert (10 places) and bar and pub (11 places), the city government said.

Of the 100 places, 28 were newly added to this year's list and another 28 places have been selected for the list for five consecutive years, it noted.

The list also included Choi Dot, a restaurant run by star chef Choi Hyun-seok, who recently appeared in the popular Netflix program "Black and White Chef." Detailed information on the 100 places is available at the website of Taste of Seoul 2024 (tasteofseoul.visitseoul.net), the city government said. (Yonhap)
