Soobin, a member of K-pop boy group TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT), will be going on hiatus due to health reasons.

The group's agency, BigHit Music, announced that the artist will temporarily withdraw from group activities after doctors advised him to rest.

"Soobin recently visited the hospital due to declining health conditions and was given medical advice that he would need sufficient time to rest and recover," the agency said in a statement.

"In response, our company held discussions with all members, including Soobin, about future activities, prioritizing the artist's health above all."

BigHit explained that despite Soobin's will to continue group activities, the company came to the decision to focus on improving his health.

"While the artist himself has a very strong desire to continue activities, after discussion, we decided to take a break for the time being as recovering his health is most important," it said.

Soobin will not be participating in forthcoming schedules, including year-end award events.

"We inform you that Soobin will not be able to participate in upcoming events such as MAMA Awards, Japan offline fan events, 'ACT : PROMISE Encore in JAPAN,' the fan signing in Shanghai and other year-end award ceremonies," it said.

"We ask for your understanding regarding any concerns caused by this sudden news. Soobin will continue his daily life while taking sufficient rest to show his best self to fans again. Our company will also do our utmost to support Soobin so that he can meet fans again in good health."

The five-piece group — consisting of Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun and Huening Kai — recently dropped its seventh mini-album, "The Star Chapter: Sanctuary," on Nov. 4 and has been holding promotions for its title song, "Over The Moon."

The album became the group's fifth million seller in the first week of release, scoring over 1.21 million album sales on the day it dropped. It also landed on global music charts, ranking second on the Billboard 200 and 14th on the U.K. Official Charts' Album Downloads.

The group held an encore concert for its third world tour, "ACT : PROMISE ENCORE IN SEOUL," at KSPO Dome in Songpa District, Seoul, from Nov. 1 to Nov. 3. TXT is also scheduled to hold another encore concert in Osaka on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1.

Later this week, TXT is scheduled to put on a collaboration performance with labelmate ENHYPEN and boy group Zerobaseone at the upcoming 2024 MAMA Awards on Friday, to be held at Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan. The group is also among the artists set to perform at this year's NHK "Kohaku Uta Gassen," Japan's largest year-end music event.
