President Yoon Suk Yeol exercised his right to remain silent during hours of questioning by three prosecutors after being detained on charges including leading an insurrection.

According to the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (CIO), Chief Prosecutor Lee Dae-hwan questioned Yoon from 2:40 p.m. to 4:40 p.m., followed by prosecutor Cha Jeong-hyun from 4:40 p.m. to 5:50 p.m. Earlier in the day, CIO Deputy Chief Lee Jae-seung conducted a two-and-a-half-hour session in the morning.

Over the course of five hours and 40 minutes of questioning before dinner, Yoon consistently refused to provide any statements.

When asked if Yoon remained silent during the afternoon sessions as well, a CIO official confirmed, "The situation was the same as in the morning."

After approximately 10 hours of interrogation, Yoon was transferred to the Seoul Detention Center in Uiwang, Gyeonggi Province, at around 9:40 p.m. He is scheduled to face further questioning tomorrow. The CIO has until Friday morning to file a warrant to arrest Yoon.

Due to his status as a sitting president and associated security concerns, he is being held in a single-occupancy cell equipped with standard facilities comparable to those for regular inmates.

The cell features basic amenities such as a bed, bedding, and a television, with underfloor electric heating for comfort. Yoon is expected to remain in this room until he is transported for further questioning at the CIO the following day.
