K-pop acts aespa and Jennie from BLACKPINK won recognition for their influence in the music industry with honors at the upcoming 2025 Billboard Women in Music Awards.

According to Billboard on Tuesday, the four-piece girl group aespa will receive the Group of the Year award at the ceremony, which will take place on March 29 at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles.

Billboard highlighted aespa's major 2024 achievements, noting that the group expanded its global tour to support its debut studio album, "Armageddon," released in May, followed by a collaboration with Grimes on a remix of its hit single "Supernova."

Jennie from K-pop icon BLACKPINK will also be honored with the Global Force award, given to individuals who have made notable contributions to the music industry.

Billboard celebrated her musical journey, saying, "As part of BLACKPINK, Jennie has taken over charts and stages across the world. Now, as the K-pop star gears up to release her debut solo album, 'Ruby,' on March 7, she's already seen major success with singles like 'Love Hangover.'"

The Billboard Women in Music Awards have celebrated rising artists, creators, producers and executives each year for their contributions to the industry and their communities.

In the past, JYP's powerhouse girl group TWICE received an award in 2023. NewJeans — currently seeking new opportunities under the name NJZ, free from its original agency — also won recognition in 2024.
