Chef Anh Sung-jae, who served as a judge at Netflix's hit cooking show "Culinary Class Wars," will reopen his fine dining restaurant Mosu Seoul in Itaewon, Yongsan District, Seoul.
The restaurant reappeared on the Korean online reservation platform Catch Table on Monday. While it is expected to start receiving guests from March 22, the date when reservations can be made is still unknown.
Mosu Seoul's only offering will be a Dinner Tasting Course, priced at 420,000 won ($288). A corkage fee of 200,000 won will apply, allowing one bottle of outside wine per guest.
The chef opened Mosu San Francisco in 2015 and earned a Michelin star within eight months.
In 2017, he opened Mosu Seoul in Hannam-dong, an affluent neighborhood in Yongsan District, with investment from CJ CheilJedang. After earning one Michelin star and then two, Mosu Seoul became Korea's only three-star Michelin restaurant in 2023.
However, in early 2024, Anh announced the end of his partnership with CJ CheilJedang and temporarily closed the business. Despite promising to reopen by summer, Mosu Seoul remained closed longer than expected, though it retained its three Michelin stars during the hiatus.
Anh's appearance on "Culinary Class Wars" in September 2024 boosted his public profile, earning him acclaim for his logical and consistent critiques, as well as his charisma.
As his popularity increased, anticipation for the reopening of his restaurant rose. When Anh shared a job posting for the restaurant last month on social media, the post garnered over 9,000 likes in just one day.
The chef also launched his YouTube channel last month, announcing that he will take on new challenges this year in his first video.
In a recent video sharing his daily life, he also gave viewers a preview of Mosu Seoul's construction site. The relocated restaurant now sits in a tranquil spot atop Mount Nam, near Grand Hyatt Seoul.
"I like quiet and secluded places, so I chose a location where not many people walk by and I am proceeding with construction," he said, explaining his choice of location.
Anh's channel surpassed 300,000 subscribers in just about a month. Among the three videos posted, two garnered over 2 million views and one has over 1 million views, cementing Anh's fame.
Meanwhile, the Michelin Guide announced its 2025 edition last month, awarding chef Kang Min-goo's Mingles as the only other three-Michelin-star restaurant in Korea.
