The government said Wednesday it has temporarily banned all flights over the Constitutional Court ahead of its impending ruling on President Yoon Suk Yeol's impeachment.

The flight ban will be in place from midnight Wednesday until midnight next Wednesday within a radius of 1 nautical mile, or 1.85 kilometers, of the court, the land ministry said.

The measure is aimed at preventing crime and terrorism around the date of the impeachment ruling, which the court has yet to announce.

All aircraft and drones will be prohibited, except those used by emergency responders.

The ministry said it plans to extend the ban before next Wednesday to last through March 31. (Yonhap)
