The Corea Image Communication Institute (CICI) will host Korean speech and video contests from Thursday through May 30, as part of its annual Cultural Communication Forum (CCF).

The competitions aim to spark discussions on "sustainable K-style," encouraging participants to explore sustainability in various aspects of Korean culture, including music, food, films, dramas, webtoons, art, architecture, fashion and beauty.

Applicants may choose to submit their thoughts in one of two formats: a video or a recorded Korean speech.

For the video category, open to both Koreans and foreign nationals residing in Korea, entrants are encouraged to create content showcasing sustainable practices within Korean culture. Submissions can be in the form of a short-form vertical video under one minute or a longer horizontal video lasting around three minutes.

For the speech competition, foreign residents of Korea are invited to submit a three-minute recorded presentation in Korean, sharing their thoughts and experiences on the same topic. Finalists will have the opportunity to present their speeches live at the CCF 2025 event, where the winners will be announced.

Two winners will be chosen in each contest. First-place winners will receive 3 million won ($2,068), while second-place recipients will receive 2 million won in prizes, including cash and luxury hotel vouchers.

Entries for both contests must be submitted by 5 p.m. on May 30. Detailed information about the rules and submissions can be found on the CICI website.

Founded by President Choi Jung-wha, CICI is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting Korean culture internationally. Its flagship event, the CCF, scheduled to take place on June 12 this year and mark its 16th edition, brings together global cultural leaders each year to discuss cultural exchange and development.
