Indictment Against Kang In Suspended

He wasn't physical detained on charges of beating up a patron in a bar brawl in Gangnam, southern Seoul in September.

The police recently asked the prosecution to indict him but prosecutors have decided to put the indictment on hold. The prosecution said the suspension reflected that he has had no criminal record and the degree of his involvement in the brawl has been viewed as minimal.

On Sept. 16, Kang and his friend fought with two customers at a bar in Gangnam. A surveillance camera showed three more of Kang's friends joined in the fight later. Kang at first tried to avoid getting involved in the fight but later joined in, police said after viewing the recording.

Kang was in trouble again when fled the scene of a car crash after causing a traffic accident under the influence of alcohol on Oct. 16.

Kang, while driving a rental car at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour, caused a crash involving two taxis on a road in Gangnam.
