A United Nations new global women's rights campaign poster uses popular Google search terms to highlight gender inequality.

The poster consists of four pictures of women's faces – the women are Muslim, Asian, Caucasian and Hispanic. Google search input blocks cover their mouths.

Inside the blocks are four key input terms: "women need to," "women should," "women cannot," and "women shouldn't". Below each keyword are further related popular search terms.

These include such terms as "women need to be put in their place," "women should stay at home," and "women cannot drive," all reflecting an entrenched misogynic bigotry in today's society.

The search terms are Google's automatic results generated since March 9.

Christopher Hunt from Ogilvy & Mather Dubai designed the poster.

"This campaign uses the world's most popular search engine (Google) to show how gender inequality is a worldwide problem," Hunt said.

"The advertisements show the results of genuine searches, highlighting popular opinions across the Worldwide Web."
