The standard of beauty changes along with the times, but a woman's instinct to seek for beauty never changes.

The desire for a "baby face," looking younger than their age, has emerged as one of aesthetic phrases these days, with compliments such as, "You look younger than your age" being accepted as more flattering than "you are beautiful."

In a recent poll conducted by a community portal site and an aesthetic dermatologist, actress Jun Ji-hyun and actor Song Joong-ki were chosen as the most baby-faced Korean celebrities.

Many say their elastic and fair complexion — which makes people wonder how old they really are — comes from "clean and pure" skin. Your skin condition is often regarded as whether you are baby-faced or not.

With such a trend, skin management is what women who want baby faces should most care about.

Aging is inevitable, but to look younger than your age, it is important to postpone the aging process by paying attention to every day skin care.

Slowing aging with daily care is more important than rushing to recovery and after-care after aging has already started, especially in now that fine dust and smog are in the air.

These pollutants not only trigger respiratory related disease, but also promote the aging process by adhering to the skin.

In polluted air conditions, various efforts including enough sleep, regular exercise and having good food for the skin are needed to maintain a healthy and clean skin.

Among these, having good food for the skin and body is the most easy and effective method to use.

People often say a good diet can make a person look five years younger, because consuming good food helps to excrete bodily waste. Also, healthy foods are effective in moisturizing and whitening your skin, giving you a baby face without expensive aesthetic practices.

Nuts, full of fat-soluble vitamins and minerals, are the best contributor for treating pigmentation and moisturizing the skin.

Vitamin E in walnuts and peanuts is closely related to skin health. The biggest functions of vitamin E are anti-oxidation and anti-aging. It recovers skin damaged from fatigue, stress and UV rays, and effectively removes active oxygen, the main culprit of wrinkles.

Its benefit don't end here. As a natural moisturizer, vitamin E strengthens the skin and blocks evaporation, as well as helping depigmentation — getting rid of age spot or freckles.

Garlic is good for excreting bodily waste and caring for wrinkles.

When bodily waste is accumulated, it will darken the skin tone and cause various skin troubles. As widely proved, garlic is significantly effective in helping excrete toxic materials in the body, thanks to its main element, allicin.

Allicin also helps the body absorb vitamin B and has an antibacterial function. This will likely allow you to have "translucent" skin.

Garlic is also widely believed to activate cell functions, pushing waste to the outer skin, and absorbing required nutrition that improves wrinkling caused by aging.

Broccoli is one of the greatest anti-aging foods. It is full of moisture, vitamin C and E, which help maintain a clean skin.

The amount of vitamin C, which restrains synthesis of melanin, in broccoli is twice that of lemon. Thus, long-term consumption will eventually give you fair complexion.

Vitamin C is also good as it boosts collagen synthesis, helps blood circulation and recovery from fatigue. Broccoli also contains beta-carotene which is good for skin reproduction and blemish improvement.

There are also other practices you can do other than having skin-wise food.

One of them is to change small habits. Avoid excessive face washing. Drink tea made with ingredients that are good for the skin, such as chrysanthemum, buckwheat and polygonatum.

Do not sleep with your face buried in a pillow or on your side because such positions apply unnecessary physical force to the face, resulting in wrinkles.

Also it is advised to eat moderate amounts as excessive consumption eventually accumulates cholesterol, neutral fats, and sugar in the blood. That will interrupt circulation and result in freckles and dehydration.
