Two trains collided on one of Seoul's major subway lines on Friday, injuring some 170 passengers, police and firefighters said. No fatalities were immediately reported.

The accident happened when one train ran into the back of another, which had stopped between stations due to a mechanical problem, at Sangwangsimni Station on Subway Line 2 at around 3:30 p.m., they said.

Some of the wounded passengers were taken to a nearby university hospital, officials said, without disclosing the nature of their injuries. (Yonhap)
