Cheon, 28, who won the award for her role in independent film "Han Gong-ju," walked to the stage with teary eyes. She then expressed gratitude for winning the award despite the film's modest budget.
The overwhelmed actress had to calm herself for a few seconds after wondering aloud "how an unpopular actress like me could receive such a huge award."
The film is about a high school student who loses her friend in a gang rape incident and is pressured to leave the school by the perpetrator's parents.
