A man turned himself into a human torch after his live-in lover rejected his marriage proposal in Daegu on Monday.
The man, 29, poured gasoline over his body, and then set himself on fire in the parking lot of an apartment complex in Seongdang-dong at about 4 a.m.
Police said he had proposed to a woman, 33, with whom he had been living.
The woman injured her ankle trying to stop her suicidal lover, and was treated at a nearby hospital.
