There have been several courtroom dramas in Korean cinema over recent years such as "The Attorney" (2013) and "The Unfair" (2015), that deal with heavy handed subjects disclosing the filthy realities of society.

The upcoming courtroom film, "The Advocate: A Missing Body" runs contrary to these dark stories as it portrays a bourgeois attorney, who manages his career by representing guilty clients, turn into a hero who stands up for social justice.

"A Hard Day" star Lee Sun-kyun takes the role of the confident and fashionable lawyer, Byun Ho-sung, who appears in court wearing tight-fitting suit with casual sneakers. He is the most reliable attorney at a big law firm.

One day, Byun is asked to defend an alleged stalker who is suspected to have murdered a female college student. As there are no witnesses and no body of the girl, the talented attorney, whose life motto is "winning is justice, and I am the winner," is just a step closer to winning the case as he always has, but the suspect abruptly confesses that he is the culprit of the murder.

Suffering disgrace that he manipulated the evidence, he feels greatly hurt and embarks on digging up the truth.

As Byun digs deeper to find the facts and evidence, he notices that the case is deeply related to the chairman of a large conglomerate pharmaceutical company and finds himself becoming more eager to reveal social justice.

Quickly paced, "The Advocate" doesn't allow the audience any respite to take a break and leads them to understand the meaning of the original Korean title _ "The Angry Lawyer."

Up-and-coming actress Kim Go-eun takes the role of Jin Sun-mi, a rookie prosecutor with a strong sense of justice. Jin, who used to work when Byun, still works as a prosecutor, and pits herself strongly against Byun at first, but later decides to cooperate with him in the case.

Actor Lim Won-hee also makes a great team with Lee Sun-kyun as the office manager for the attorney.

"The Advocate: A Missing Body" will screen nationwide beginning Oct. 8.
