A workplace safety training program for foreign managers is now available in English.

On Wednesday, the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (KOSHA) said courses were available via its English website or in classes.

Before April, the courses were available only in Korean.

Applicants can choose from three programs: for safety and health managers, safety managers or health managers.

All the programs offer "initial level" courses for workers and "refresher level" courses for those who have completed the initial courses.

Applicants should be non-Korean and nominated by their workplace.

They also need to be members of the KOSHA Duty Center website.

Once the applicants pay online, they can choose whether to take lectures online or offline.

A certificate will be given after a final test has been passed at the end of each course.

"Foreigners are at a greater risk in the workplace due to the language barrier and lack of information," said KOSHA president Shin In-jae.

"Proper training on safety will reduce any further risk."
