The medical products affiliate of Samsung Group said Monday that the entry-level product, the HS40, is available for sale in the global medical equipment industry. The new lineup comes with a 21.5-inch full high-definition side display and touch screen, equipped with high-end imaging technology.
"The HS40, an abbreviation for Hybrid System, has various premium functions and improved usability," Samsung Medison CEO Jun Dong-soo said.
"The launch of the HS40 has allowed Samsung Medison to provide a full lineup of medical equipment. We are going to innovate the global medical equipment industry at a rapid pace by improving usability, accuracy and efficiency of our full-scale products lineup."
The company said the HS40 is optimized for obstetrician diagnostic use, allowing doctors to check the health condition of an expectant mother and fetus including their heart muscles. The Samsung unit stated the product is particularly fit for small and medium-sized hospitals and clinics where few doctors have to meet many patients. Other key characteristics of the device are the high-end LED screen and the firm's patented technology mainly used for the firm's luxury devices.
The device has won this year's global iF Design Award in the product design category with its slim and sophisticated design.
