Cha Eun-woo, the flagship member of K-pop boy band ASTRO, is garnering great popularity thanks to the recent JTBC series "My ID is Gangnam Beauty."

Cha, 21, plays male lead Do Kyung-seok, a "golden boy" who falls in love with Kang Mi-rae played by Im Soo-hyang, 29.

In the webtoon-based drama, Cha appears as a seemingly cold-hearted man who has a traumatic memory about his mother. But when he meets a woman and falls in love with her, he reveals his caring and warm-hearted side.

The drama mainly deals with Korea's rampant "lookism" and plastic surgery issue, and ultimately seeks out genuine beauty.

Cha, who made his debut in film "My Brilliant Life" in 2014, is already a K-pop heartthrob, largely due to his looks. He even gave birth to a nickname "face genius."

In fact, many rate Cha as one of the best looking K-pop singers. The media outlet Hankook Sporbiz singled out the seven most attractive-looking idols Sunday, and Cha was included. V of BTS, Kim Jin-woo of WINNER, Jaehyun of NCT, Suho of EXO, Vernon of Seventeen and Ong Seong-woo of Wanna One were also there.

The singer is also well-known for his intelligence. He has been studying at Sungkyunkwan University since 2016, majoring in performing arts.
