Sungyeol of K-pop boy group INFINITE will enlist on March 26, becoming the second band member to join the army and serve active duty.

"Sungyeol's family members and close acquaintances will accompany him on the day, but the time and location of his enlistment will not be opened to public," said a spokesperson for his agency Woollim Entertainment, Thursday. "He will come up with a message for his fans."

The first INFINITE member to join the army was leader Sungkyu, who began his duty in May. Sungkyu will return to civilian life in Feb, 2020. The team's rapper Dongwoo is also set to join the military this year.

Sungyeol debuted as a member of INFINITE in 2010 with the album "First Invasion." The group rose to stardom with a smash-hit track "Be Mine" released in 2011.

He has been forging an acting career as well, appearing in the KBS 2TV drama "Hi! School: Love On" in 2014 and the KBS 1 soap opera "Love Returns" in 2017-18.
