Oh is talented musician with bright personality

Oh Ye-jin
Oh Ye-jin, 10, a fourth grader at Ido Elementary School on Jeju Island, has many talents in various fields such as painting, calligraphy, essay writing and computer coding. But her gift for music is the most prominent. She can play the violin, piano, ukulele and hand bell. She likes to play instruments in front of her class and other people.

Born to a Korean father and a Chinese mother, Oh can not only speak both Korean and Chinese but also just started to learn Vietnamese.

Oh is also a leader of a youth art troupe consisting of children from multicultural families and she is much loved by her friends there. The troupe performs at elderly care centers and children's hospitals every month.


Kang is young but strong and responsible student

Kang Hye-in, 11, a fifth grader at Gamcheon Elementary School in Gimcheon, North Gyeongsang Province, is a pillar of her family.

She lives with her Vietnamese mother and four siblings whom she takes care of along with her mother, and she helps them with their schoolwork.

Despite financial and other difficulties at home, Kang has become a person with leadership skills and a strong sense of responsibility. She is versatile in all subjects, and is particularly good at singing. She performed at a city government-hosted musical in October.

Kang is also interested in drone, participating in a drone club at the school and winning "drone football" competitions in the province.

She is currently vice president for the student council at her school and it is her dream to become a judge.
