A-list actress Jun Ji-hyun is in talks to return to the small screen after four years, according to Jun's agency Culture Depot, Tuesday.

The actress was "positively considering" starring in a drama tentatively titled "Mount Jiri," penned by star writer Kim Eun-hee, the agency said.

Kim was behind the success of tvN's popular soap opera "Signal" (2016) and Netflix's Korean Zombie series "Kingdom," which premiered last year. Jun will also make a cameo appearance for the second season of "Kingdom" that will air in March.

"'Mount Jiri' is set to premiere late this year or early next year," an industry source was quoted as saying.

The drama revolves around Mount Jiri, in the southern region of South Korea, the second-tallest mountain (1,915 meters). The highest mountain is Mount Halla (1950 meters) on Jeju Island. But details about the plot are under wraps.

Jun appeared in dozens of hits including "My Sassy Girl" (2001) and the drama "My Love from the Star" in 2013-14. The actress has not been seen on the small screen since featuring in SBS's "Legend of the Blue Sea" in 2016.
