CJ ENM has teamed up with the U.S.-based production company Skydance Television to remake its 2019 hit drama "Hotel del Luna."

The series' production house Studio Dragon, which also worked on Oscar-winning movie "Parasite," said Wednesday it has inked a co-production partnership for the series with the U.S. production company.

"This IP agreement is special compared with any previous ones as Studio Dragon and Skydance will be equally involved in the whole production process of the TV series," Studio Dragon said.

Starring Yeo Jin-goo and IU, the fantasy-romance series revolves around an elite hotelier who becomes the manager of a mystical hotel that serves spirits.

The adaption, originally written by the "Hong sisters" ― Hong Jeong-eun and Hong Mi-ran ― will be developed by Alison Schapker, the showrunner of Netflix's "Altered Carbon."

Schapker will also produce the series with Miky Lee, Jinnie Choi and Hyun Park of Studio Dragon and David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Bill Bost of Skydance Television.

"We are thrilled to have Alison lead the adaptation of 'Hotel Del Luna,' hopefully our first of many co-development projects with Skydance," said Park, head of Studio Dragon's Global Division.

"We believe this adaptation will enhance the reputation of Korean storytelling around the world by showcasing the global appeal of our local stories."
