The late Samsung Chairman Lee Kun-hee's art trove, which recently revealed itself before the eyes of the public at the National Museum of Korea (NMK), will also be livestreamed for remote view via the Naver TV platform, Thursday at 7 p.m. (KST).
최근 국립중앙박물관에서 대중에게 모습을 드러낸 ‘故 이건희 삼성 회장 기증 명품전'이 오는 목요일 저녁 7시 네이버 TV 플랫폼을 통해 중계방송될 예정이다.
Since late last month, the special exhibition, "A Great Cultural Legacy: Masterpieces From the Bequest of the Late Samsung Chairman Lee Kun-hee," has showcased 77 pieces, among which are 28 national or government-designated treasures, spanning from the early Bronze age to the late Joseon era.
지난달 말부터 열린 특별전 '위대한 문화유산을 함께 누리다 – 故 이건희 회장 기증 명품전'에서 청동기시대 전기부터 조선 후기까지 국보·보물 28점 등 77점을 선보였다.
The pieces on display ― paintings, metal art, earthenware, porcelain, bibliographic materials, calligraphy and wooden furniture ― have been carefully selected from the more than 21,600 pieces that Lee amassed over his lifetime and subsequently donated to the museum in April.
회화, 금속제 조각, 토기, 도자기, 고문서, 서화, 목가구 등 전시품은 故 이건희 회장이 평생 모은 2만1600여 점의 작품들 중 엄선되어 4월 박물관에 기증됐다.
But the toughest social distancing measures of Level 4, which are currently in effect in Seoul due to the alarming increase in COVID-19 cases, led the museum to accept only visitors who made advance reservations online through its website. Even those limited slots were booked quickly as early as the opening day, with no tickets currently available until the end of this month.
그러나 코로나19 감염 가능성에 대한 불안으로 현재 서울에서 시행되고 있는 사회적 거리두기 4단계 조치에 따라, 웹사이트를 통해 온라인 사전 예약을 한 방문객들에 한해 박물관 입장이 가능했다. 전시 개막 첫날을 앞두고 한정된 티켓이 매진되어, 이달 말까지 예약 가능한 티켓이 남아있지 않다.
The livestreamed event on Thursday aims to provide the audience with a chance to witness the collection up close, albeit virtually.
목요일 생중계는 비록 온라인으로 진행되지만 관람객들에게 이건희 컬렉션을 가까이 볼 수 있는 기회를 제공하기 위함이다.
The NMK curator Lee Su-kyung and broadcaster Jin Yang-hye will be the main hosts of the show, and any questions from the audience will be answered in real time by the museum's other curators. The video will also be available for view after the livestream session on the museum's Naver TV channel.
국립중앙박물관 큐레이터 이수경과 방송인 진양혜가 메인 진행자로 중계를 진행하며, 박물관 큐레이터들이 관객 질문에 실시간으로 질문을 받아 답변을 해줄 예정이다. 중계방송이 끝난 뒤 국립중앙박물관 네이버 TV 채널에서도 다시보기로 볼 수 있다.
The exhibition runs through Sept. 26 at the National Museum of Korea.
한편 이건희 컬렉션은 국립중앙박물관에서 9월 26일까지 진행된다.
