A premature baby weighing only 288 grams and measuring 23.5 centimeters, small enough to fit into an adult's palm, was recently discharged from hospital following 153 days of treatment.
몸무게 288g, 키 23.5cm로 성인의 손바닥에 딱 맞을 만큼 작았던 미숙아가 153일의 치료를 마치고 퇴원했다.
Doctors say it is a miracle that the "preemie" overcame less than a 1 percent chance of survival.
의사들은 생존 확률이 1% 미만인 ‘미숙아'가 치료를 이겨낸 것이 기적이라고 말한다.

서울아산병원 신생아 중환자실에 따르면 임신 24주 6일만에 태어난 조건우 아기는 9월 3일 건강하게 퇴원했다고 한다.
It is very rare anywhere in the world for a premature baby weighing less than 400 grams to survive and Keonoo was recorded as the smallest preemie to survive here.
전 세계 어디에서도 400g 미만의 아이가 살아남는 것은 흔치 않은데, 건우는 국내에서도 가장 작지만 생존한 미숙아로 기록되었다.

The neonatal care team led by professor Kim Ai-rhan made efforts for Keonoo who was a very difficult case even for the veteran team because they could not apply the techniques usually used on ordinary premature babies because of his ultra-small size.
김애란 교수가 이끄는 신생아 치료 팀은 건우를 살리고자 노력했으나 이는 전문가들로 구성된 팀에게도 어려운 사례였다. 건우가 너무 작아 일반적인 미숙아들의 치료 기술을 적용할 수 없었기 때문이다.
Thanks to everyone's efforts, Keonoo was removed from a ventilator around 80 days after birth as he was able to breathe on his own, and his weight exceeded 1 kilogram. He left the incubator after four months and weighed more than 2 kilograms when he reached five months of age.
모두의 노력 덕분에 태어난 지 80일 가량이 지나 스스로 호흡하고 몸무게가 1kg을 넘긴 이후 산소 호흡기를 제거했다. 건우는 4개월 이후 인큐베이터를 벗어났고 5개월이 지났을 때는 몸무게 2kg을 넘겼었다.
