Six songs in EP show different tunes from group's previous music

But even before its popularity wanes, the group's lead vocalist Miyeon has dropped her first solo EP, "MY," Wednesday afternoon.
3월 발매된 K팝 그룹 (여자)아이들의 ‘톰보이'는 전세계 다수의 음악 스트리밍 차트에서 여전히 상위권을 지키고 있다. 하지만 이 인기가 가라앉기도 전에 그룹 리드보컬 미연은 첫 솔로 미니앨범 ‘마이(MY)'를 수요일 오후 공개했다.Through "MY," which is the initials of Miyeon's name, the Cube Entertainment star is willing to offer a glimpse into her unexplored sides and send her positive energy to those who need it.
미연의 이니셜인 ‘MY' 통해 큐브엔터테인먼트는 미연의 발견되지 않은 면을 살짝 들여다보고 미연의 긍정적 에너지를 필요한 이들에게 전하려고 한다."While I was gearing up for this mini-album, I tried to remember what kind of music and performance I wanted to show people when I was an aspiring singer, believing this would help me come up with a new style that I have not pulled off before," Miyeon, who dyed her hair blonde and put on a princess-like white dress, said during a press conference at a cafe in Mapo District, western Seoul, Wednesday.
수요일 서울 서쪽 마포 지역의 한 카페에서 열린 기자회견에서 금발로 염색하고 공주풍의 하얀 드레스를 입은 미연은 "이 미니앨범을 준비하면서 처음 가수를 꿈꿨을 때 사람들에게 어떤 음악과 공연을 보여주고 싶었는지 기억하려고 했고 그게 전에는 보여주지 않았던 새로운 모습을 끌어내는 데 도움이 될 거라고 믿었다"고 말했다."So I ended up producing 'MY,' which offers some easy-listening tunes that I love. I think people would be able to witness my untapped sides with this release."
"그래서 개인적으로 좋아하는 듣기 편한 곡 몇 개를 전하는 ‘마이(MY)'를 제작하게 되었다. 이 앨범을 통해 사람들이 나의 아직 드러나지 않은 면을 볼 수 있을 거라고 생각한다."The EP carries six tunes that can boost people's mood when they are driving in the spring, the singer added. Leading the mini-album is "Drive," a feel-good rock song with a touch of sentimental guitar sound.
미연은 미니앨범이 봄에 운전을 하며 기분 내기 좋은 6곡을 담고 있다고 덧붙였다. 미니앨범의 타이틀곡 ‘드라이브'는 감성적인 기타 사운드를 입힌 기분 좋은 록송이다.Through its lyrics, Miyeon tells people ― and herself ― not to lose their cool and proceed, even if they face difficulties on their ways.
