SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won emphasized that in order for humanity to design a better future, it is necessary to break away from stereotypes and find solutions with flexibility and diversity.

According to SK Group Friday, Chairman Chey attended the Tokyo Forum 2022, co-hosted by the Chey Institute for Advanced Studies and the University of Tokyo, Thursday, and gave an opening speech, saying, "We all need to focus on designing a safer and more prosperous future."

The Tokyo Forum is an international forum held by the institute in collaboration with the university since 2019.

In his opening speech, Chey posed questions to the audience about what was needed to solve global problems and emphasized finding solutions.

The chairman said that science and technology can be a new opportunity to solve global risks.

Regarding the education of the young generation for a better future, Chairman Chey said, "It is important to listen to the thoughts and imaginations of the young generation and build a new education system that reflects them, rather than the existing education system. In finding global solutions, we must have an open mind and learn how to accept differences."

In his keynote speech, former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said, "We are facing global uncertainties such as geopolitical risks, pandemics and climate change, and we need global solutions to resolve them."

Ban emphasized that solutions could be found through the dialogue between philosophy and science.
