Singer and actor Rowoon will lead JTBC's upcoming series "Destined With You" alongside actress Jo Bo-ah.

The fantasy romance series, scheduled for release in August, will center around Lee Hong-jo (Jo), a civil servant at the Department of Greenery, and Jang Shin-yoo (Rowoon), a lawyer, who becomes entangled in a cursed book that was sealed 300 years ago.

The series is helmed by director Nam Ki-hoon, known for his previous work on the Disney+ romance series "Kiss Sixth Sense" and tvN thriller series "Voice 3." The script is penned by No Ji-seol, the scriptwriter for tvN period romance series "100 Days My Prince."

Rowoon plays a star lawyer who constantly finds himself in the spotlight. He has been sick for an unknown reason and tries to find the owner of an ancient book, Mokham, to break the curse that has plagued his family for generations.

"I'm very excited to play this character as it is different from all the other characters I've played until now," he said through the network. "I'm also looking forward to Shin-yoo. I hope you look forward too."

Jo plays a low-ranking civil servant who maintains an optimistic outlook despite the challenges of handling citizen complaints. Unexpectedly, she becomes the owner of Mokham and holds the key to unlocking Jang's curse. When Jang seeks her assistance, the two encounter unforeseen circumstances.

"I was drawn to this unique and interesting plot and this character's charm. So next thing I know, I found myself as Hong-jo," the actress said. "We filmed in such a harmonious, pleasant environment with actors, director, writers and staff just like the first feeling I had when reading the script. I also am curious about how the story will unfold and am looking forward to the premiere. So I ask for much support and anticipation."

Actor Ha Jun and singer-actor Yura also star in the series. Ha plays the role of Lee's coworker, Kwon Jae-kyoung, who Lee has a crush on. Yura plays Yoon Na-yeon, who is Jang's girlfriend.
