Two Korean entrepreneurs – Kim Woong-ki of Global Sae-A Group and Suh Kyung-bae of Amorepacific – have been named among the Top 200 Collectors of 2023 by ARTnews.
김웅기 글로벌세아 회장과 서경배 아모레퍼시픽 회장 등 한국인 기업가 두 명이 아트뉴스가 선정한 세계 200대 콜렉터(미술품 수집가)에 이름을 올렸다.

This marks the second consecutive year for both figures to secure a spot on the list of the world's most influential collectors, published annually by the leading U.S. art magazine since 1990.
1990년부터 매년 발간된 선도적인 미국 미술전문잡지가 발표하는 ‘세계에서 가장 영향력 있는 콜렉터' 명단에 두 사람이 지난해에 이어 2년 연속 자리를 확보했다.

Kim, chairman of the apparel manufacturer and exporter at Global Sae-A Group, made headlines last year when he was revealed to be the winning bidder for modern abstractionist Kim Whanki's stately blue dot diptych, "Universe 5-IV-71 #200" (1971), at a 2019 Christie's Hong Kong auction.
의류 제조사이자 수출사인 글로벌세아그룹의 김 회장은 2019년 크리스티 홍콩 경매에서 현대 추상미술가 김환기의 우아한 푸른 점 두폭화 ‘우주 5-IV-71 #200(1971)'을 낙찰 받은 것으로 드러나 큰 화제가 됐다.

The painting set a record as the most expensive Korean work ever auctioned, fetching HK$88 million (13.2 billion won).
이 그림은 8800만 홍콩달러(약 132억원)에 팔려 경매된 한국 작품 중 가장 비싼 가격이라는 기록을 세웠다.

The news coincided with the announcement of his company's new gallery, S2A, located inside its headquarters in Seoul's Gangnam District. Since its opening, the gallery has hosted exhibitions featuring the works of Kim and iconic Japanese master Yayoi Kusama, among other prominent creatives.
이러한 소식은 서울 강남구에 있는 회사 본부에 위치한 새 갤러리 S2A의 개관 소식과 동시에 퍼졌다. 개관 이후 해당 갤러리는 다른 유명 작가들 중에서도 김환기의 작품, 그리고 일본의 상징적인 대가 쿠사마 야요이의 작품을 포함하는 전시들을 개최해왔다.

Suh, chairman and CEO of the country's cosmetics giant Amorepacific, is well-known for his collection of traditional and contemporary Korean art.
국내 거대 화장품기업 아모레퍼시픽의 CEO이자 회장인 서경배는 전통 및 현대 한국 미술품을 수집하는 것으로 유명하다.
