LG Nova, a Silicon Valley-based innovation center of LG Electronics, will join the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January to showcase future technologies that LG has been focusing on, the company said Monday.
LG Nova is an organization established at the end of 2020 to accelerate cooperation with innovative startups leading the industry and discover new business models.
At the CES, which will be held in Las Vegas from Jan. 9 to 12, LG Nova will set up a promotional booth at Eureka Park, where startups will display their technologies and products. About 10 startups from four future industry sectors that LG Electronics focuses on — digital health, clean tech, future tech and smart life — will participate in the exhibition.
In the field of digital health, XRHealth, Mindset Medical and C. Light Technologies will join. In the future tech field, Humano, DeepBrain AI and Nakamir will take part, and Roiby and Key2Enable will set up exhibits in the smart life field.
"These are startups that were selected through LG Nova's global startup idea contest, Mission for the Future. They are discussing collaboration with LG Electronics," LG Electronics said.
By showcasing startups with high potential for actual collaboration at the exhibition, LG Nova reveals the outline of future growth engines that LG Electronics is focusing on.
Also, the company has been running a contest targeting global startups every year since 2021, discovering and nurturing startups with innovative ideas, supporting commercialization and exploring new business opportunities.
So far, LG Nova has selected about 50 startups and is concretizing the possibility of collaboration. This year, the contest period was expanded to operate annually.
As a related event, it holds its Innovation Festival every fall, providing an opportunity for various innovative companies and investors to interact.
"This CES will demonstrate the leadership of LG Nova, which leads the agenda of the global startup ecosystem, and will be a place to share visions for future industry sectors," Rhee Sok-woo, head of LG Nova, said.
