Actor Lee Byung-hun's residence near Los Angeles was robbed recently, according to a U.S. celebrity news outlet on Monday local time.

"One of Lee's staff members stopped by his Los Angeles area home last week to find the place ransacked. We were told the thieves smashed a sliding glass door to get inside the house," according to a TMZ report that referred to information provided by law enforcement sources.

The tabloid news organization reported that police doubt that Lee was being specifically targeted but rather that the robbery appeared to be the work of one of the bulglary crews that have been operating in wealthy neighborhoods around Los Angeles.

Lee's management company, BH Entertainment, confirmed the robbery and stated that he and his family were safe and staying in Korea. Also, "there was no financial damage," the management company told the Hankook Ilbo, the sister paper of the Korea Times.

Lee is said to be working on the production of the second season of Netflix's global hit "Squid Game" (2021). The actor is also recognized for his roles in "Concrete Utopia" (2023), "Inside Men" (2015), "Mr. Sunshine" (2018), "Iris" (2009), and "Joint Security Area" (2000).

Married to actress Lee Min-jung, the couple welcomed their second child to the world in December last year.
