Hana Bank signed a business agreement with Hire Diversity, a platform company for foreign students, to provide financial services and financial education for foreign students in Korea, the bank announced Monday.

The agreement comes as more international students are studying in the country each year, in line with the government's "Study Korea 300K Project," which aims to host more students from overseas in Korea. While the changes in demographic structure are reducing the number of Korean students entering colleges, schools and the government are focusing on attracting foreign students.

Hana Bank said it will offer convenient and safe financial services and education for the students following the agreement. They will include both offline and online financial services for foreign students through its app Hana EZ, financial education to encourage sound financial transactions, joint production of financial education content and additional financial services for foreign residents in Korea.

"We recently became the first bank in the banking industry to support the issuance of Hana Certificates in 16 languages through Hana EZ, our app supporting overseas remittance service in multiple languages," a Hana Bank official said.

"As the country's top bank in terms of foreign exchange services, we will do our best to ensure that not only international students but also all foreign customers staying in Korea can carry out financial transactions more conveniently and safely."

Hire Diversity is a platform company that provides administrative services for foreign students in Korea. Through its HireVisa app, it offers resident registration number issuance service, real estate deposit protection and health insurance premium double payment exemption service, among others.
