Jennie of K-pop girl group BLACKPINK will release a new album in June, a local media outlet said.

News1 reported Sunday that the 28-year-old has been gearing up for her solo album while mapping out plans for promotional activities. It will be Jennie's first album since she established her own label, Odd Atelier, last year.

Jennie is known to have founded her own company with her mother to pursue her solo career in a more free and comfortable manner. But she is still maintaining a partnership with K-pop powerhouse YG Entertainment — which gave birth to BLACKPINK in 2016 — for her group-based activities.

Following the conclusion of their second world tour, which attracted some 1.8 million concertgoers worldwide and earned an estimated $260 million gross, all four members of BLACKPINK — Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rose — renewed their contracts with YG Entertainment for group activities in December. Despite their unified commitment to the group, they embarked on separate journeys for their solo ventures.

Jennie entered the K-pop scene as part of BLACKPINK in 2016 with the album "Square One." She made her solo debut with the song "Solo" in 2018, becoming the first BLACKPINK member to do so.

In October 2023, she dropped her solo single, "You & Me," which debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard Global 200 with 65.1 million streams worldwide. It also notched the No. 39 spot on Britain's Official Singles Chart.

Jennie currently appears on tvN's mystery variety show "Apartment 404."
