Korean hip hop legends Tiger JK and Yoon Mi-rae received the 2024 Trailblazer Award of Achievement from the Korean American Community Foundation (KACF), their agency Feel Ghood Music said, Wednesday.

The award ceremony took place in New York, April 17 (local time).

The Trailblazer Award recognizes individuals who have elevated Korean cultural content and contributed to the Korean community's increased presence internationally.

The celebrated musical couple was selected as this year's winners in acknowledgment of their social contributions and their success in promoting Korean talent on a global scale. Tiger JK and Yoon Mi-rae graced the stage at Coachella on April 14 as 88rising Futures performers.

"It's humbling to receive this award alongside individuals who have made significant contributions. The encouragement from our fans and influential figures has been a motivating force for us," Tiger JK said.

"We deeply appreciate the support we have received and it will undoubtedly inspire us to continue striving for excellence in the future," he said.

Yoon Mi-rae said, "Receiving this esteemed award is truly a moment of honor and joy for me. I am genuinely surprised and grateful, especially considering the caliber of global influencers who have received this recognition before us."

Previous recipients of the prestigious award include actor Yoo Teo in 2023, actor Lee Jung-jae in 2022, actor Youn Yuh-jung in 2021, HYBE Global CEO Yoon Seok-jun in 2020, and author Lee Min-jin of the novel "Pachinko" in 2019.
