Producer Kim Ji-woo, who created MBC's popular travel reality show "Adventure by Accident," noted the production team is gearing up for the series' return with a new season in the second half of this year.

During the Korean Producers and Directors Association's annual award ceremony, held at IVEX Studio in Gwangmyeong, Gyeonggi Province, Tuesday, the producer shared the news during his acceptance speech after winning Producer of the Year with the show. The show won Variety Show of the Year last year.

"I hope that those who strive to create something new or that have never tried before can find courage and hope through watching ‘Adventure by Accident.' We've received so much love from viewers and have been contemplating how to pay it back. So we're currently in progress to create a new season," Kim said.

"There will be things changed and others that remain the same, but I believe the heart of ‘Adventure by Accident' is about being open-minded and having the spirit for the challenge. So we aim to return with that mindset in our work," the producer added. "We'll be back in the second half of the year with a stronger and warm-hearted [show]."

The show invites webtoon creator Kian84 and his friends to go on unplanned adventures in different countries. It kicked off its first season in South America in December 2022, featuring Kian84, his actor friend Lee Si-eon and travel YouTuber Pani Bottle on a 10-day journey.

The second season showed Kian84's trip to India with TV personality Dex and Pani Bottle, and the third one invited all four cast members to explore Madagascar.

The show became popular for its down-to-earth cast members experiencing and delving into the lives of the countries' locals.

Kian84 won the highest honor, the Grand Prize, at last year's MBC Entertainment Awards for the show.
