The state-run Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) said Tuesday it has submitted its formal bid for a project to construct four nuclear reactors in the Czech Republic.

The KHNP submitted the final bid to Elektrarna Dukovany II (EDUII), a subsidiary of Czech state utility company CEZ, on Monday (Czech Republic time) to take part in the project to build four 1,200-megawatt nuclear reactors in Dukovany and Temelin.

The European country will announce a preferred bidder around June and July after due evaluations and reviews by the government and relevant entities, according to KHNP officials.

"Korea will be the optimal supplier in the world that will help the Czech Republic achieve the goal of completing the construction of new reactors by 2036," Hwang said, stressing its advanced reactor construction capacities and experiences. (Yonhap)
